Things to Pack for Labor and Your Hospital Stay
Things To Pack For Labor
- Insurance cards, hospital forms, anesthesia forms, birth plan. You may need your ID.
- Camera, video camera, batteries and film.
- Your favorite pillow.
- No-slip socks or slippers.
- Nightgown and robe. (You may want to use the hospital’s and keep your clean for after the birth.)
- Barrette, hair clip, headband, or scrunchie.
- Hairbrush.
- Hard candy, suckers, lip balm.
- Picture or object for a focal point.
- Lotion or oil for a comforting massage, back massager.
- Glasses if you wear contacts.
- CD player, ipod, or MP3 player to listen to relaxing music.
- Toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash.
- Cell phone and charger.
- Snacks and extra clothes for your support person.
Things To Pack For Your Hospital Stay
The above items plus:
- Pajamas or night gown, robe, extra socks.
- Nursing bra, pads, underwear to wear with pads.
- Boppy or nursing pillow.
- Small bag with make-up items.
- Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant. (Travel size are nice to have.)
- Favorite snacks.
- List of family and friends to call.
- Outfit for you to wear home. (Roomy enough to fit your not back in shape yet body.)
- Outfit for your baby to wear home, socks, receiving blanket, and cap and heavier blanket or bunting if cold climate.
- Infant car safety seat.
